SPEAKER: Joel Bongo

BIO:  Born in the rice paddies of Hermosa, Bataan in the Philippines and raised in Ewa Beach, Joel’s life is a powerful testimony to God’s faithfulness and purpose. A Navy brat who moved to San Diego at age two, Joel began his leadership journey early—managing one of the largest paper routes in Ewa Beach as a boy. He met his wife while working at McDonald’s and later pursued Computer Science at UH and on the mainland.

Joel stumbled into a career in IT and spent a decade pursuing the “dream job” across the mainland and Southeast Asia. Along the way, he joined a pre-IPO company in Silicon Valley that went public in the year 2000. But it wasn’t until he returned home to Hawaii that God revealed his true calling.

Today, Joel is Co-Owner of eWorld Enterprise Solutions, a local IT firm based in downtown Honolulu that helps Hawaii’s government agencies better serve the citizens of Hawaii through technology. He also serves as CEO of Inspired Life Investments, a real estate investing and development company dedicated to people over profits and creating affordable housing for local families.

Married for over 35 years, Joel and his wife have raised three beautiful children who each share a heart for making a difference in the world. Joel lives to reveal the God-given greatness in others through marketplace leadership, using his work to glorify God and uplift his community.
