As the Co-founder and COO of Overlap, a digital marketing agency celebrating 10 years of award-winning work, Derrick has helped brands grow through purposeful design, digital strategy, and measurable impact. Under his leadership, Overlap has earned top honors from AZIMA and the American Advertising Federation for excellence in both execution and results.
With over 20 years of experience, Derrick’s entrepreneurial journey began with a high-performing sales and marketing company that partnered with The Arizona Republic, generating over a million dollars in revenue annually. He later became one of the youngest executives at Verizon Wireless, earning national recognition through multiple Winner’s Circle awards.
But for Derrick, leadership goes deeper than metrics. He helped launch AZ Kidz Experience, a nonprofit that raised over $250,000 in just a few years to support the Phoenix Children’s Foundation and host meaningful community events for kids and families. Today, he coaches high-capacity leaders to grow with clarity, conviction, and peace — aligning their lives with what matters most.
Now living in Honolulu with his wife Angela and their dog Dash, Derrick continues to build with intention. His mission: to help others rise, not by grinding harder, but by aligning deeply with God, purpose, and people.
